My mum and I had nuggets and chips here while we were waiting for our coach back to North Wales. The owner was very friendly and the food was just what we needed! If we are ever in York again, we would definitely come back here!!

Been in York years but never tried this place until today. Extremely reasonable nice food and a very clean spot. Lovely chap serving too. Cannot fault the place.

Went to this chippy based on the fact it has the highest average Google reviews in York. The chippy is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from city centre. I would say the chippy is very good. The fish and chips were good quality and at a fair price. There is seating indoors with a few tables and window seats on the ground floor and more seating upstairs If you like your fish and chips this place is worth checking out.

This is just the Best chippy in the world. Not only is the food to die for but, it's cooked to order. The proprietor is really nice and down to earth, conversation is good and service great. As a driver I was given a discount, which is very nice these days and very much appreciated. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone in York looking for that little extra special experience for fish and chips. Looking forward to going again when in York, as this is my go to place for food when in the area now.

I always come to Seacatcher when visiting York. The fish and chips are excellent - beautifully cooked and delicious, fresh fish. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. The manager is very friendly, welcoming and clearly takes a pride in his restaurant. I'd highly recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting York, followed by a very pleasant walk along the city wall.

The server (owner?) such a lovely guy, Yorkshire hospitality at it's best. We had fish and chips after an exhausting day of exploring! the food was great and the service was super. Thanks

It is fish&chips take away with tables inside (first floor). Lovely fish in crispy batter with chips and mushy peas topped with tartare sauce made a good ending to a nice day. Charming gentleman helped us to make sure choice and delivered food straight to the table upstairs. P.S. Toilet was clean and tidy.

Found this little gem via a Google search when travelling, and we were not disappointed! My partner went in and was warmly greeted and placed our order for two fish and chips, was asked when talking if he was a driver (he is a hgv driver) which afforded a drivers discount, an unexpected but pleasant extra. The serving was more than ample, all freshly cooked, piping hot and absolutely gorgeous! Well worth taking the time to go off route to eat here, it's a long time since I've had batter so lipsmacking!!
